Every year
we observe the 16th December as a Victory Day. On this day in 1971 the
barbarous Pakistani army surrendered to the joint commander of the Indian Army
and Bangladesh Liberation Forces. Through their surrender the nine months' War
of Liberation came to an end and Bangladesh came into existence as an
independent sovereign state. As such this day is regarded as the Victory Day.
Yesterday we observed this Victory Day in our school premises in a ceremonious
way. The function began with the hoisting of our national flag at 6 o'clock in
the morning. In the afternoon a discussion meeting was held with the headmaster
in the chair. The Mayor of Dhaka City Corporation was the chief guest.
Students, guardians and other guests also attended the function. The students
sang some patriotic songs. A few students recited patriotic poems of Tagore and
Nazrul. Various speakers spoke on the occasion explaining the significance of
the day in our national life. The function came to a close with a vote of thanks
by the assistant teachers.
A paragraph on How to Do Well in the Examination
A
student who studies regularly, learns his lessons well and makes a good
preparation is sure to do well in the examination. But there are some students
who work hard but cannot do well in the examination. To do well in the
examination, a student should be regular to his studies from the very beginning
of the year. It helps a student to prepare his lessons thoroughly. Many
students neglect their studies at the beginning and when the examination
approaches, they start cramming. But cramming does not help a student in time
of his need. Clear concept about a subject helps a student to answer the
questions properly. Secondly, a student has to make his notes for the
examinations through proper understanding and constant practice. Because
without understanding memorized things may not be effective when a student
wants to reproduce them. Again, a student should have a fairly good command of
the language to answer the uncommon questions set in the examination. Above
all, to do well in the examination a student must he industrious, dutiful,
sincere, punctual and hard working
A paragraph on How to Learn English Well
Most
of the students of our country feel much difficulty in learning English well. I would like to put here some suggestions about how to learn English well and how
to secure good marks in English. The first and foremost duty of a student is to
attend his/her English classes regularly and listen to what his/her teachers
say in the classes. Secondly, he has to read English correctly and try to
understand it properly. Reading a thing correctly and then understanding the
same properly will help him to know the same in a better way. Thirdly, a
student has to write frequently what he has learnt. The practice of writing is
a good way of knowing a subject and a language. Finally, a student should make
the habit of speaking English in their day to day life. This will help him to
speak English well. I believe, if anybody follows the above method he will soon
feel easy to read, write and speak English well.
